Sculpture Park
The Wendell Dayton Foundation is planning the creation of a sculpture park, which will be sited on the grounds of Wendell Dayton’s former home and studio on Art Street in Sunland, CA.
The sculpture park will present and preserve Wendell Dayton’s artwork, help bring more art and artists into the world, and provide a cultural sanctuary for the community.
As a world class city at the center of global culture, Los Angeles lacks open spaces dedicated to art. The Wendell Dayton Sculpture Park will be a two-acre cultural oasis, filled with sunlight, shady trees, and the permanent installation of Dayton’s monumental abstract stainless steel sculptures. For the local community, the park will be a continuation of Dayton’s last two-decades, where he lived and worked full time in Sunland, becoming a beloved neighbor and his stainless steel creations sculptures a treasured landmark.
